Project Cost Estimating
Skilled cost estimating requires a unique mix of art, math, and experience.
We deploy all three on every task we work.
SERVICES
We address all costs relevant to a project.
- owner's costs
- engineering & design
- direct & indirect construction labor
- materials
- subcontracts
- contingency & escalation
If you have an estimate for your project, we can provide an independent review to validate the scope basis, accuracy, and reasonableness of the costs. This service provides assurance to clients that the estimated project costs are what they should be.
Custom Excel© Spreadsheets
We're experts at developing tools in Microsoft Excel that make work more efficient and error-free. If you have an idea or a gap in your process where an advanced spreadsheet can be the solution, then let us help you bring it to reality.
Cost Databases
A comprehensive estimating database is a key asset that should be invested in. Organizing historical and current market costs in a single database can help companies estimate more effectively and accurately. We have expert experience using WinEst and can help your organization with setup, customization, and support.
Quantity Takeoffs
Quantity Take-offs are the foundation to an accurate estimate. We use computer-based methods to develop bills-of-materials (BOMs) which provide a clear line-of-sight reference back to the drawings. Reports are generated in MS Excel and PDF format allowing you to use the data any way you need.
Cost Risk Modeling
Identifying, quantifying, and modeling cost risks is helpful to develop a basis for project contingency. We use Palisade's @Risk to simulate cost risks for projects in order to gain insights into the true exposures within a project.
Training
We offer customized training modules on Cost Estimating Fundamentals and use of WinEst.
Process Development
We can help with developing an estimating process and procedures to use in your own organization to get where you want to be.
